After a successful Windows 7 start, I connected a wireless mouse's USB to my laptop. Windows 7 failed to start normally in a subsequent start attempt.

After a successful Windows 7 start, I connected a wireless mouse's USB to my laptop.
Windows 7 failed to start normally in a subsequent start attempt.

Last night I shut down my Dell XPS laptop, and disconnected it from my external monitor, the power cord, and disconnected the wireless mouse's USB from the computer.
I moved to another room, connected it to a duplicate power cord, and started Windows 7.
It
started normally.
I then realized I had not inserted the wireless mouse in the laptop's USB connection.
I inserted the wireless USB into the laptop without shutting the system down, and noticed that neither Firefox or IE would start quickly, but eventually
they did start, and I worked with Firefox and Word.

This morning, I reconnected the laptop to the monitor, the original power cord, and inserted the wireless mouse USB into the computer.
I then attempted to start Windows 7.
Windows 7 failed to start.
I got a screen stating that Windows 7 was having hiccups,
and it gave me an option to "Restore" and a second option to "Cancel." I chose "Cancel," and shut down the system with the On/Off button--a hard restart.
I then restarted Windows 7, and it started normally.
Why is Windows 7 so sensitive that it won't allow
any USB connection after it has started? Should I have chosen Restore instead? Other than always remember to not connect anything to the computer after Windows 7 has full started, how can I avoid this annoying problem?

Hi Paulpot ,

1.
What exactly happens when you try to launch the program?
2.
Do you receive any error message?
I suggest you to download the standalone version of adobe flash player and install on your computer.
Follow this below mentioned link to download the latest version of adobe flash player.
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
After downloading the flash player you need to right click on the setup file and select run as administrator and check for the issue.
If the issue persists then, I would suggest you to perform cleanboot on your computer and check if the issue persists.

Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
If yes, you may have to contact the program manufacturer for any updates or uninstall and re-install the program.
Refer the following Microsoft KB article for more information on how to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After troubleshooting, make sure to put the computer to start as usual as mentioned in Step 7 in the above KB article.

Thanks and Regards:
I.
