CAN'T CREATE SYSTEM RECOVERY DISK USING BACKUP WIZARD

I'm using Windows XP Professional and am trying to create a system recovery disk using the Backup and Recovery Wizard.
I'm backing up all the info on my laptop to an external device.

The Wizard says at the outset that at the end of the process I will be asked to insert a cd to create a system recovery disk.
In fact it never asks me to insert a cd.
It just says (after the backuo is complete) that there is no cd in the floppy drive so a system recovery disk could not be created.

I'd be so grateful for any help with ths frustrating problem.

The XP Backup and Restore wizard will only create the recovery disk to a floppy disk. Are you sure it states there is no CD in the drive or does it state there is no disk in the floppy drive?
