How can I open email attachment jpg files?

On Thursday, 4/17 I upgraded IE to IE 8 and tried to install latest version of Adobe. Even though Adobe said it installed, it did not work properly.
So, I uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled Adobe 9. I also had quite a few windows update install that evening.
I use Windows Mail as my email. Since, these updates, each time I have tried opening attachments.
I am receiving the error "Windows cannot find .jpg file. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and try again. What happened? I did notice that the Windows
updates included for Office 2007. I am not using Office 2007. I am still using Office 2003. Any suggestions? Windows Vista operating system.

Where you wanting to reinstall IE 8 and troubleshoot this matter further, or were you content with IE 7? If so, could you clarify what you mean by it didn’t work properly? It shows as being installed, but websites still ask you to install the latest
version of Adobe?
You may want to check you add-ons and make sure that it is enabled properly by doing the following while in IE 8:
1.       Click
Tools
2.       Click
Manage Add-ons
3.       Where it says “Show:” drop down the menu and select
All add-ons
4.       Go through the list and make sure that the add-ons for Adobe products are enabled
Another thing that is rumored to work is turning off UAC.
You might want to give that a try and see if it helps to resolve the issue.
