is IE 8 Blocking site content not blocked by IE 7?

When attempting to visit a site for our local football league site i am not getting the full content.  just side bars, links and menues....

I just thought that the site was being updated but when my wife goes on using her computer that is IE 7 it is full of content and all the info I need.

basically i need to figure out a way to deal with this, unless maybe the site itself needs to be updated to coexsist with users of IE8...
any help would be appreciated

which was used to make the site.

Using Windows troubleshooter:

• Click on Search on Charm bar and type Troubleshooting. Click on the very first option.
• A new window will open. Click View all from the left pane.
• Scroll down to the bottom and click on Windows update.
