Troubleshooting:Auto width and height on merged cells Error

Auto width and height on merged cells

Hello,

I am using Office excel 2007 (12.2.6535.5002) SP2 and I have some trouble with the « auto height » and “Auto Width” applied to merged cells

I have a cell: « text format », with or without « wrap text »

What work,
I type in a text containing several lines.
By selecting the “Auto Width” or “Auto Height”, the width and height of the cell is adjusted automatically.

What does not works,
Now if I reproduce this exercise on several merge cells, either “Auto Width” or “Auto Height” have no effect.
Even worst, the “Auto Width” places the cell width to its default value.
Masking remaining lines.

We can lose the display a lot of information by typing text in merged cells

Is that normal ?
What should be done to maintain this nice feature?
