laptop had the option to maintain 50% charge when plugged in full time to optimize battery life.
after most recent update, that option appears to have disappeared from the control panel.

·         Are you referring to power option?
I would suggest you to create new administrator account and check if you can view battery option which you are referring to.

Run CHKDSK
