i have dell inspiron 5220. Actually i took windows update and installed it quickly it automatically restarted but not booting properly and not starting it is giving me error no 0xc0000001..also i have followed steps pressing like shift + f8 but its not
giving me any reflaction and i dont have recovery disc..
so plz help me my lapi is off now ....

I suggest you to change the first boot priority to DVD\USB if you are not able to get the boot menu when you insert a DVD\USB.

Method 1: I would suggest you to try booting the computer in Safe mode and check.

Follow these steps to boot the computer in safe mode.
Step 1: Safe Mode with DVD

Let’s boot from the Windows 8 DVD and login in Safe Mode.

a) Boot from Windows 8 DVD.
b) After you see a Choose an Option, click on ‘Troubleshoot’.
c) Now click on ‘Advanced Options’ and then on ‘Windows Startup Settings’.
d) Use your arrow keys to go to ‘Safe Mode’ and hit Enter.

If you are able to boot into safe mode, try performing a clean boot.
Step 2: Perform Clean Boot.

Important: Reset the computer to start to normal startup.

a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

c) On the ‘General’ tab, click the ‘Normal Startup’ option, and then click ‘OK’.
d) When you are prompted to restart the computer, click ‘Restart’.

Follow these steps to perform Automatic repair

a) Insert the installation DVD or USB and boot Windows 8 from it.

c) Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.

You may try to boot from the Windows 8 DVD and try performing a System Restore from Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
To perform System Restore on Windows 8 computer follow these steps:
a.
Restart the Windows 8 computer, press & HOLD Shift+F8, until you see the option Choose an operating system.
b.
When you see the screen Choose an operating system, click on Change defaults or choose other options.
c.
Choose the option Troubleshoot and select Advanced options.
d.
You may choose System Restore from Advanced boot option.
