BOTH 'Windows Explorer has stopped working' and 'Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working' messages, can't do ANYTHING!
I searched around for answers to this problem, and while some addressed similar aspects none was completely relevant.
Step by step, this is what happened:
I downloaded Haali Matroska Splitter from the first result in Google, opened the zip and ran it, if I even got that far.
Since that very moment I've been seeing both of the above messages, constantly.
I turned the computer off and on and it persists as soon
as everything has booted.
I cannot access 'msconfig', or any other programs that might help because seemingly everything runs through Windows Explorer.
I'm currently looking at 29 unaddressed 'Windows is restarting' loading boxes on the laptop in question,
while writing this from another.
Please help, as I'm a complete no-hoper at such a compliacted issue.
I'd appreciate your not assuming I know anything technical and describing any solutions in a step-by-step manner.
