Can I run Works 2001 on a computer with windows vista

I tried to install Works 2001 on my computer with Vista and it won't recognize the Product Ket.
Are these programs not compatable with Vista? It says Required Registry information is missing and this application cannot run.
Please rerun setup to correct
this problem.
Does anyone have any quick fixes or do I have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a new works program that will be compatable with Vista?
